East Riding College is launching a range of courses for adults who are looking to earn an advanced or higher-level qualification but don’t want to wait until September 2015 to start.
The level three, four and five courses – equivalent to A-levels and the first and second years of a degree, respectively – run from January and all are eligible for tuition fee student loans.
They are aimed at people who want a qualification to help them progress in their career or secure a new job, those who need support to progress to higher-education level or those who are ready to study at higher level now.
Principal Derek Branton said: “These courses are ideal for people who were not ready to enrol in September but are now really keen to press ahead with a new qualification and do not want to wait until September 2015 to start.
“They are substantial courses, which will look excellent on your CV and are eligible for tuition fee loans, which mean you can study now and only begin to pay for the course when your annual salary is above £21,000.”
Professional courses are available in accounting, counselling skills, health and safety, management and working with substance misuse.
The Level Three Access to Higher-Education Diploma, which prepares learners for higher level study, such as degrees, is available in a range of “pathways” which enable students to specialise according to the degree they intend to take.
These include pathways in business, humanities, law, nursing and health science, social science, sport and teaching.
Higher-education courses – higher national certificates, higher national diplomas and foundation degrees – are available in art and design, business, media, music and public services.
All of the courses are eligible for tuition fee student loans which have low interest rates and do not require repayments to start until you are earning £21,000 a year.
