High Profile Sadofskys & cba Merger Set To Create Hull & East Yorkshire’s Leading Accountancy Practice

Two of East Yorkshire’s long-established accountancy firms are joining forces to create a 70+ strong team with over 60 years’ combined experience, in what is believed to be one of the most significant regional mergers in recent times.

Hull-based Sadofskys Chartered Accountants (Sadofskys) and Beverley-based cba Chartered Accountants (cba) have announced that their respective partners and board of directors have approved a definitive agreement for the organisations to formally merge in March 2015 and practice as cbaSadofskys.

The collaboration has been carefully planned to create one of Hull and East Yorkshire’s leading independent chartered accountancy practices. The new practice is differentiated by the combined team’s unparalleled experience and commitment to delivering outstanding and value added client service.

“The combination of Sadofskys and cba creates an exciting opportunity for our company and clients,” said Alan Brocklehurst, managing director of cbaSadofskys, who is now in his second term as president of the Humberside and District Society of Chartered Accountants.

“In addition to creating an industry-leading company, this is a compelling financial and strategic move that we firmly believe will position us as one of the most experienced practices in Hull and East Yorkshire. The merger will yield many synergies and benefits in the years ahead.

“Chris Brown, the founder of cba, and his team have created a fantastic practice which, with Sadofskys, has a solid foundation for future growth. We are looking forward to working with his team as we bring our organisations together to deliver the best possible accountancy and tax advice – a service that makes a positive difference and offers a superior client experience within the highly competitive and dynamic marketplace in which we operate.”

Chris Brown, board member elect and current managing director of cba, added: “This combination creates a company that will deliver enormous opportunities for our employees and an enhanced experience for our clients.”

“cba and Sadofskys have been dynamic and innovative accountancy practices in Hull and East Yorkshire for decades and this merger will accelerate the pace of that ongoing innovation.

“The new company management board will consist of Alan Brocklehurst and Alan Drant from Sadofskys alongside cba’s Tim Barley and myself. Through a fully aligned cultural fit, I am confident that our coming together will deliver an industry-leading platform that will make a real difference to our clients for many years to come. We’re excited to be part of a new team delivering all of the services organisations want and need to keep them effective and efficient.”

Andrew Burnell, chief executive at the City Health Care Partnership CIC, said: “This is a great match of skills and experience. Sadofskys has always served us very well providing a sound financial auditor service and accountancy advice and we are delighted that they are strengthening their team to help us as we grow stronger together over the coming years. I have heard a lot of very good things about CBA I look forward to working with the wider team as part of cbaSadofskys in the future.”

City Health Care Partnership CIC is an independent, co-owned business providing community health and integrated care services to over a half a million local people in Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Knowsley and North / North East Lincolnshire. We employ approximately 1,500 people.

cbaSadofskys will be headquartered, in Wright Street, Hull, and cba’s current office in Beverley will remain. Overall the merger will see more than 70 staff coming together to deliver business, accountancy and taxation services for businesses ranging from start-ups and small and medium enterprises to multi million pound trading entities.

Their combined portfolio also includes schools, academies and a wide range of public and third sector organisations.

Sadofskys and cba will officially join forces on 1st March 2015.
