The King Of Suspense Arrives At East Riding Libraries

East Riding Libraries have taken delivery of 120 new books by number one bestseller, Stephen King.

Librarian Hayley Nicholson bid for the prize from publishers Hodder and Stoughton and is delighted that readers will have the chance to rediscover the popular author or to enjoy his writing for the first time. Hayley said:

“Stephen King is best known for his horror, but he’s also a great writer of suspense, science fiction and fantasy. Many people are familiar with his stories through film adaptations such as The Shining, Carrie and The Shawshank Redemption, or the successful TV series Under The Dome, but maybe haven’t actually read the original books.”

The libraries’ stock will be enhanced by copies of six titles: Misery, Carrie, The Shining, Different Seasons (the short-story collection which includes The Body which became the movie Stand By Me and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption which obviously became the movie The Shawshank Redemption), Under the Dome and The Wind Through the Keyhole.

Library users will also be able to win their own set of six Stephen King books (courtesy of Hodder and Stoughton publishers) by taking part in an anagram competition. The deadline for entries is Saturday, 31 January.
