Malet Lambert No Match For Mill Lane United Yellows

Mill Lane United Yellows extended their lead in the Girls u16 League with a convincing victory against Malet Lambert.

With Malet, only having nine players available Mill Lane Yellows did the sporting thing and played with nine players as well.

Malet Lambert started brightly and would have taken the lead in the first 2 minutes, but for an excellent save by the Yellows shot stopper Leah Shalgosgy.

Mill Lane took the chance as a warning and never looked back playing some excellent passing football from their own goal line with every player playing with confidence and showing great composure on the ball that created five goals in the first half a hat trick from Marie Russell and 2 from Morgan Nagee. Credit though must go to Malet Lambert, who kept battling with Robyn Allan showing up well.

The second half saw Mill Lane Yellow’s score 6 more goals 2 from substitute Alice Johnson, 1 more from the leagues top scorer Morgan Nagee to give her a hat trick and one each from Emma Johnson, Charlotte Holliday and a 25-yard strike from Courtney Lees. The final whistle blew with 3 more points for the Yellows.

Performance wise from the Yellows a confident display with the full team showing great composure on the ball with some quality finishes after some superb approach play. Man of the matches went to Marie(Misty)Russell for three quality finishes and substitute Alice Johnson for two well taken goals.

Special mention to goalkeeper Leah Shalgosky for another clean sheet and a new sweeper role which started many attacking moves.

Final Score: Malet Lambert 0 Mill Lane Yellows 11
