Runners in Beverley are reminded that they need to sign up for the Hull Marathon before 1 January 2015 to take advantage of the Early Bird entry fees.
They can choose to run either the full 26.2 mile marathon or get together with family, friends or colleagues to form a relay team.
Signing up early saves money and provides a focus for all those New Year’s resolutions to lose weight and get fitter.
A number of Beverley AC runners have registered already, among them Andy Grainger, an experienced marathon runner who is aiming to complete the course in less than four hours. He said: “I entered as it is really the first Hull City Marathon and I’d love to say I did it.”
Sarah Tock has formed a relay team with fellow Beverley AC members and each of them will run between six and seven miles. After much deliberation the team came up with a very appropriate name – the Quarter Pounders. Sarah explained their choice:
“There’s four of us pounding the streets!!”
The Hull Marathon takes place on 13 September 2015. For more information go to www.thehullmarathon.co.uk.
