Beverley RUFC return on the road for their fixture up the North East against Billingham who sit 7th on the table.
Billingham have returned after the festive break with two consecutive losses against Sheffield Tigers and high flying Sandal who sit at the top of the table however, both those fixtures were away and Billingham are a different team all together when in the comforts of Greenwood Road.
Beverley’s Director of Rugby, Junior Tupai commented:
“Billingham are a classy outfit. Their strength is in the backs with a mixture of pace and experience, but at the same time, we can’t underestimate their forward pack.”
“They may not be the biggest pack in the league but they can handle themselves quite well in this league as their league position shows.”
“Although we went close against Sheffield and could’ve snatched a much needed win, two lapses of concentration cost us. I’d like to think we’ve restored some confidence within the squad and hope that we can extend that to this Saturday.”
Beverley could welcome back Stu Nel who has been out since early November with an ankle injury however, as what’s been the case all year some players who were part of the excellent performance against Sheffield will be unavailable for the trip up north.
Beverley will select from: A Ogilvie, A McPeake, K Renwick, M Adams, L Starbuck, D Hodgson, J Bunn, R Powell, J Fell, S Nel, I Archibald, P Duboulay, S Atiola, J Tupai, I Morrison, R Bussey, M Harling, M Kilgannon
