Beverley Roundtable Celebrate Louis Marchesi’s Birthday

Members of Beverley Roundtable were joined by other local Roundtable clubs to Celebrate Louis Marchesi’s Birthday.

For the clubs, it was a big night as Louis Marchesi was the founder of Roundtable back in 1927.

Lawrence Green, Chairman of Beverley Roundtable said;
“As chairman for the year, I am aiming to bring in more members while also bringing back some of the traditions that have been lost, one of which was to celebrate Louis marchesis birthday.”

“For this, I invited Bridlington Roundtable, who we first met on a national competition arranged through Roundtable in the Lakes for the Hike and Bike challenge.”

“We got on well so try to meet up when possible. We also invited along Beverley 41 club as they have a very long and great experience of celebrating his birthday.”

“One of our main ways of fundraising is to hold casino nights for people, either as a complete event or just as an addition to their black tie ball.”

“To make use of this, we did a roulette competition to see who would win Louis MArchesi’s birthday presents from this year with a range of gifts from poor to pathetic, and a token bottle of port for one lucky person.”

“We meet fortnightly and try to do something interesting or simply meet up with mates for a catch up. We do a little bit of fundraising throughout the year with our casino nights and do a few national competitions for weekends away, and nights out. New members are always welcome.”
