Worried About Your Mole? Visit A Walk-In Clinic

NHS

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group is currently piloting a walk-in mole clinic for those worried about their moles, to pop in and have them checked over by a specialist GP.

The clinic is a 6 month pilot for patients in the East Riding of Yorkshire to provide reassurance and advice on any worries they may have around their moles, such as change of shape, colour or hair growth.

The walk-in clinics will be open between 5pm-8pm at The Old Fire Station, Beverley, HU17 8JW on the dates below:

  • Wednesday 11th February 2015
  • Wednesday 11th March 2015
  • Wednesday 8th April 2015
  • Wednesday 13th May 2015
  • Wednesday 10th June 2015
  • Wednesday 8th July 2015

Dr Simon Carruthers, GPSI Dermatology at The Old Fire Station in Beverley said:

“This is a great initiative aimed at helping to reduce the number of patients who currently have to wait approximately two weeks for referral. You may just need reassurance, helpful advice or perhaps your GP is simply not sure. If that’s the case then this is the perfect place for you to come along and have your mind put at ease.

“Any patient in the East Riding of Yorkshire can come along and be seen during the clinic opening hours. The service provides easier access to seeing a GPSI rather than waiting for an appointment – only to be told in some cases there is nothing wrong.”

After the pilot an evaluation will be carried out to analyse the number of people who showed an interest and attended the clinics. The CCG will then look at rolling out a series of clinics to a wider audience in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
