In Beverley Town Centre while doing a couple of jobs I could not help but notice there were a lot of large goods vehicles driving down the pedestrian section.
While I understand they have to do deliveries and in another case today take rubbish away it did feel a little crowded to have to large wagons rolling through the town centre.
After the tragic events in Glasgow this Christmas that saw six people die after a bin lorry careered out of control it makes me feel a little uncomfortable seeing them so close pedestrians in such a tight space.
While they were not travelling very fast, the world saw firsthand what can happen when people and lorries come together.
I am no lawyer nor do I really understand the signage that details when and what is allowed on Toll Gavel.
If we are hoping to attract people into the Town centre then maybe this issue must be looked at and something put in place to stop any vehicles driving down the centre during times when the streets are awash with people.
