Beverley Community Church are the latest organisation to benefit from Beverley Building Societies Charity of the Month completion.
Members of East Yorkshire’s only independent building society voted for the group who provide a support on a number of topics and host a number of local events.
Beverley Community Church already have plans to put the money right back into the community using the funds to help finance a community event.
Richard Bradbury came into the Saturday Market branch to collect a cheque from Mark Marsden of the Beverley Building Society.
Richard Bradbury Leader of the Beverley Community Church commenting on the competition said;
“I would just like to thank Beverley Building Society for their wonderful gift which will assist us to carry out our aim to bring the community of Molescroft together, and I would like to thank all those who voted for us.”
“The £250 cheque from Beverley Building Society will be put towards the Picnic at the Pavilion Event which will take place on 31st May which a community fair and aims to bring the people who live in the Molescroft area together.”
Mark Marsden, Risk Director at Beverley Building Society said:
“The charity of the month competition continues to provide a fantastic opportunity for our members to choose select charities that they wish their Society to support and it is a been great success. We would like to thank everybody who has nominated charities for the competition and of course everybody who has voted.”
The Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month Campaign has now been running for three years and has given members of the Society the opportunity to vote for around 40 different local charities, donating £9000.
