Singer, songwriter and comedian, Mitch Benn will take to the stage at East Riding Theatre in Beverley this Saturday, 28 February.
The Liverpudlian, has had a long and successful career working predominantly with UK radio and TV channels. Mitch is performing “Don’t Believe a Word” which won huge acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year.
Mitch is best known for writing and performing on Radio 2’s ‘It’s Been A Bad Week’ and Radio 4’s ‘The Now Show’. He also regularly appears on ‘The One Show’ as writer and arranger of ‘The Complaints Choir’.
Benn’s latest show is full of his usual comical opinions and quirky tunes, and focuses on arguments with people on Twitter, about his belief in scepticism which is effectively not believing in anything. Benn’s comical flair manages to turn subjects that would usually be deemed as irrelevant into a 16 date tour of the UK over the next four months.
Sue Kirkman, Theatre Director says,
“It is fantastic that we are able to offer such a wide variety of performances at the theatre, especially the presence of someone who is so highly regarded on the comedy circuit. Mitch Benn’s appearance at ERT is the first in a line of successful comedians/musicians to perform at the theatre.”
East Riding Theatre has produced successful shows and talents since the doors opened in December. The theatre aims to cater for the different tastes of the local community, and continues to enhance the profile of the theatre by encouraging the support of the general public.
