Neighbourhood Policing Team Sniff Out Cannabis Grow in Beverley

Humberside Police

Humberside Police sniffed out a Cannabis grow in Beverley on Friday 20 February 2015.

Two officers from Beverley and Driffield Neighbourhood Policing Team attended an address on Holderness Crescent, Beverley on the evening of Friday 20 February 2015 after smelling cannabis in the area.

The officer’s knocked on the door and an occupant opened the door. Due to the strong smell coming from the address the officers searched the property discovering a large quantity cannabis and money in a safe.

Four men (aged 18, 41, 48 and 52) and a 46-year-old woman were all arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and money laundering offences. They have all been released on police bail pending further enquiries till a date in April 2015.

Following the incident Humberside Police are urging members of the public to assist them in tackling cannabis cultivation by reporting any information no matter how small, as a smell of cannabis can lead to the discovery of a cannabis factory like in this case.

The public can report any information about the supply of drugs or any information about drugs activity by calling 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
