Beverley Town Council To Host Event For Those Interested Becoming A Councillor

Beverley Town Council are hosting an event that is aimed at anyone who has an interest in putting themselves forward as a candidate in the scheduled to happen on the 7th May.

Taking place on Wednesday 4th March at 6.30pm at the Emmaus Room at Minster Yard North, Beverley.

Alan Barker, Chief Executive of the East Riding and North East Lincolnshire Local Councils Association Mayor of Beverley and a representative from East Riding of Yorkshire Council who will explain the application and election process.

Current Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Paul McGrath said;

“We welcome people who live or work in the community to come along and find out more information about how to stand as a Councillor in Beverley.”

“The session will outline the roles responsibilities and expectations of anyone wishing to stand as a new Councillor at the elections in May.”

“It is not necessary that you are part of any political party it is more about the willingness and ability to make the commitment to serve the community that you live or work in.”

“The application process will be explained at the event for those potentially interested in becoming
Cllrs to understand the full expectation.”
