Nelson Ease Past Ferriby To Reach Semi Final Of The Cup

Terry Jackson says he is very proud of his side after they booked their place in the semi final of the Senior Cup.

A brace from Mike Tarling and a single strike Matty Littlefield ensured the Lord Nelson booked their place in the next round.

Jackson, speaking to HU17.net after his side’s 3-1 win over North Ferriby United said;

“I felt we bossed the game from start to finish. Take nothing away from North Ferriby, you saw for yourself what a quality side they are.”

“After losing to them last week we all knew what we needed to do to get the result and each and every one of my players did just that.”

“Tom Moore was a warrior out there today, when he came off his shin pad was smashed. Players like him are gold, since his arrival from Town he has become a key member of our team.”

“My man of the match today was our left wing back Matty Watts, he had a terrific all round game.”

The Lord Nelson will now meet Wawne Ferry United in the semi final in April Jackson feels his team have what it takes to reach the final.

Jackson will get a chance to see how his side fair against Wawne with the sides meeting next weekend in the East Riding County League.

He said;

“Wawne are a good team, we were unlucky not to get something from our previous meeting this season when they sneaked a 4-3 win.”
