Beverley AC junior athletes were in action over the weekend, competing in the 35th Cross Country Challenge at Baysgarth Park, Barton on Humber.
Barton & District AC host this popular event, and 350 runners competed across all ages and distances this year, 22 of them in the Beverley AC Junior team.
Sunny but very cold, windy conditions faced the runners and the ground was soft but not muddy, making underfoot conditions perfect for a good race.
There were some great efforts from all the Beverley team with team prizes being won in 2 events. Oliver Douglas, Jason Chastney and Taylor Arnott were first in the Under15 boys and Eleanor Boyd, Kelly Dawson, Francesca Brittain and Dayna Arnott took the Under 17 Girls award. In the Under 15 girls, Beverley were narrowly pipped for first place by Skyrac, with Becky Briggs and Laura Duncan finishing 2nd and 4th respectively.
