Beverley based Vauxhall retailer, Evans Halshaw, were recently awarded with a Charity Contribution certificate, after the team pulled out all the stops to help raise a fantastic £1,689.45 for the cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow, the most raised across 200 Evans Halshaw sites.
The site at Swinemoor Lane took part in a variety of activities, including cake and book sales, raffles with prizes donated by local businesses, car washing and much more to raise the money.
The funds the dealership raised go towards helping Hope for Tomorrow provide Mobile Chemotherapy Units to the NHS, which allow cancer patients to receive treatment in an environment closer to home, whilst easing the pressure and expense of travelling long distances for treatment. The Units travel throughout the country to set locations and have the capacity to treat up to 20 patients a day.
Rosa Woodley, Head of Events and Community Fundraising for Hope for Tomorrow, adds: “We are really grateful for all the support and donations from the dealership. The money raised will go a long way towards helping us bring cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes right across the UK. We can’t thank the team enough for all their help and hard work.”
Aron Brown, Dealer Principal at Evans Halshaw Beverley comments: “We are absolutely delighted to have played our part in raising a significant amount of money for such a fantastic cause. Being recognised for doing something great brings such a sense of pride and I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took part. We look to continue our contributions to the charity and hope our efforts will prove to be a great benefit to those the charity helps.”
