With just days till the to the eagerly awaited N.U.R.S.E Charity Darts Knockout organisers say they have once again got a good number of entries.
Stuart Hall says that the current holder, Terry Jackson has a real shot of reclaiming his title but feels it is still too hard to call with so many players in good form.
Mr. Hall who organises the event with Scott Clark feels that yet again they have maxed out the number players from the area who will compete for the coveted on Monday night at Conservative Club.
Speaking to HU17.net ahead of the N.U.R.S.E Charity Darts Knockout Mr. Hall said;
“There are 82 players registered this year which is the same amount as last year. However you do have to allow for some no shows.”
“In reality I do not think we could manage any more as tome would be against us to say we are pleased is an understatement.”
With an active darts scene in Beverley the Monday night leagues play an important part for the local pub trade, though this event brings players of all abilities and both male and female.
Now firmly established and widely regarded by the players as one of the signature events, feel they are begging to iron out all the creases, Mr. Hall said;
“This is the only event in the Beverley Darts calendar that allows ladies to play in the event.”
“It is also the biggest knockout out that is held bringing all leaves of players together in the charity spirit so you get chance to go up against player You may never get chance to in the league.”
“This is the fourth year myself and Scott have run the event and if we do say so ourselves we have it about right now. After a couple of teething issues in the first couple of years.”
Players will go head to head with playing the best of three from a 501 start. When asked who he thought has a good chance of winning Mr. Hall said;
“The three years the event has been held has seen three winners, Ian Grayston, Andy Arnott and last year’s winner was Terry Jackson.”
“Last year’s winner Terry Jackson is playing really well this season. But there are too many good consistent players out there to choose just one. If someone gets a good lead or even hit their double first dart who knows, it’s any ones game.”
Even if you are not throwing darts, spectators are more than welcome to come along and enjoy the evening, Mr. Hall said;
“It’s an open house on the night anyone can come in and enjoy the atmosphere buy raffle tickets donate some money have a go on the 3 Dart Challenge. the more the merrier and the more we can raise.”
“May I also take this opportunity to thanks each and every one of the sponsors. This year’s boards are being sponsored 20p a point for the highest finish. 10p to the charity 10p to player.”
