PHOTOS: High winds have blown a tree over in Manor Close, Beverley.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council are dealing with tree and said they have a had a few to deal with but this is one of the biggest ones so far.

Sad to see the demise of a handsome tree. My late friend, Michael O’Malley called it the “furniture polish” tree, because that was the aroma you got when you rubbed the leaves between your fingers. Anybody Know what variety of tree it was?
T’was a Common Lime (Tilia x europaea). Never heard the furniture polish thing before: gonna try that!
