Step Into Spring With Dove House Hospice…

As the sun begins to shine this spring, Dove House Hospice are encouraging local people to join us at our annual Spring Sponsored Walk on Sunday 19th April.

There are three walks to choose from to suit all ages and abilities, families and even your four-legged friends too! From a gentle 5 mile Walk, an intermediate 11 miles to a challenging 24 miles, routes take in the beautiful east Yorkshire coastline.

Fundraising Manager, Karinda Jones said;

“Our annual Sponsored Walk is very well supported by dedicated walkers from across the region and this year we would also like to see a sea of new faces for 2015.”

“We are very excited to take our walk to the breath-taking East Yorkshire coast line for the first ever time, trailing from Bridlington to Flamborough, giving walkers the opportunity to discover Flamborough Head, North and South landing and Danes Dyke.”

“We hope this will entice local residents to step out into the spring sunshine, enjoy our beautiful coastline whilst supporting Dove House Hospice.”

Registration for the walks is free; however we do ask each walker to raise a minimum of £20 to take part in the walk or pay a £20 registration fee if you want to walk but don’t want to fundraise. Registration is at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Bridlington and throughout the route walkers will pass by marshalled checkpoints where refreshments will be available to ensure a safe and enjoyable walk.

Dove House Hospice provides specialist palliative care to adults in Hull and East Riding living with life-limiting illnesses. The annual running costs of the hospice is £6.5 million each year, with only the equivalent of 42 days per year funded, it is events like this and the support from local people that enables the hospice to provide care for the remainder 323 days.
