Hunters Estate Agents, Beverley, opened its doors in August and after just a few months of trading in the historic town are looking to put something back into the community.
Leanne Marshall, Managing Director who previously managed the Bridlington Office for over six years and colleges from their other branches will be tackling a Charity Bike Ride, all in aid of St Mary’s Church, Beverley.
Speaking to HU17.net Leanne said;
“Having been herein Beverley for 7 months, it was always our intention to give something back to the town and that is why we have decided to organise a charity bike event.”
“We aim to raise money for St Marys Church which is in need of essential repairs.”
“The event will take place on 18th April 2015, setting off from our Hunters head office in York and Finish at St Mary’s Church Beverley. Lots of local people and businesses have really embraced this and will be taking part.”
“Each office is trying to gain their own sponsorship to try and hit a team target of £10,000. The finish is designed to be a real celebration of all of our efforts. There is a BBQ, singer and raffle as well as the presentation of the monies raised to Rev Becky Lumley, the Vicar at St Mary’s Church.”
“A prize was a very generous donation from Minster Cycles, a Pashley bike which retails at £675 and is similar to the bike I will be doing the ride on myself.”
“I am by no means fit and it is going to be a very personal challenge for me alone to get to the finish line, let alone doing it on a none conventional bike.”
“The cycle challenge has generated a lot of media attention so far with the promise of BBC Look North, the local news station wanting to there at the finish line.”
Covering over 30 miles on their bikes this is certainly going to be a tough ask but the staff at Hunters Estate Agents are certainly up for!
