Staff at Colette and Tyson Garden Centre in Beverley have dressed up the entrance to their store in blue and yellow ahead of the start of the Tour de Yorkshire.
Dan Foster, Chrissie Singleton and Gemma Briggs spent time carefully selecting items from around the shop that they later used to create the display.
Chrissie who helped build the display told HU17.net.
“For a few weeks before we even started work on it we put trolley round the back of the store.”
“As we went about our duties around the shop, every time we saw something that was either blue or yellow we placed in the trolley.”
“One the things we are most pleased about is the dress that we made from bin bags and then smartened up with a nice yellow bow.”
Lauren Cocks, the marketing manager said;
“Coletta and Tyson garden centre are always proud to support local events and what an amazing thing to support this year the Tour de Yorkshire.”
“When we heard the route was coming through Beverley we were so excited. I saw last year’s great displays in Harrogate and was inspired to do the same in the garden centre.”
“The team have done a great job of interpreting the blue and yellow colours and we think
It looks great.”
“Luckily a staff member had an old bike available to be sprayed for the display.”
“There are leaflets for customers to take for information about the Tour de Yorkshire an maybe this display may inspire customers to do the same in their gardens.”
“Staff have an affinity with cycling an take part in the annual Leukaemia Humber bridge bikeathon.”
The Tour de Yorkshire starts on 1 May will become passing through Beverley Saturday, 2 May. While it is only a fleeting visit visit to the town, Coletta and Tyson say they will keep display in place until the end of May so that the public can view their handiwork.
