Ten ladies from Beverley Ladies Circle travelled to Aviemore to attend the National Ladies Circle AGM conference.
There were 74 represented Circles from around the country, approximately 400 members of the Round Table family and international visitors from the Belgium Ladies Circle.
Key issues covered at the conference included increasing membership, the charitable work that every circle is involved in and the next years Executive elections.
An overview was given of what impact Ladies Circle has had around the country. This year contributions to society includes Children in Need, Women of the Year and the Remembrance Day Cenotaph Memorial Commemorations.
Events over the weekend included a fancy dress party which was well represented by the Yorkshire contingent.
Beverley Ladies Circle member Ginny Vorwerg competed for the national executive Administrator role on the National Board for 2015/2016. Yorkshire victory was confirmed after attendees voted for the best speech and an answer to an undisclosed question.
Ginny will now spend the next year working with the board running Ladies Circle at a national level and alongside the Round Table, ensuring another successful year of fun, friendship and fundraising.
Ginny said;
“I am unbelievably proud and honoured to be able to give back to such a worthwhile organisation that does so much good in Great Britain and around the world.”
In addition to all the charitable work we are involved in Ladies Circle and Round Table we were able to respond quickly to the Nepal tragedy.
During the conference we raised over £2500 through activities including auctioning off a signed pair of boxing gloves donated by Carl Froch, Super middleweight boxer.
