Nightingale Says Beverley Town Third’s Selection is a ‘Recipe For Success’

Beverley Town Cricket Club third team look to continue this season’s campaign with the first home game of the season against the newly promoted Hull Ionians Coal Exporters.

Beverley currently sit two places below HICE on the league ladder after four games and the vice captain Alex Nightingale says he is expecting a tough match this Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the game a confident Nightingale said;

“HICE have had a good start and are currently unbeaten so far, it will be another hard game for us we need to continue last week’s good work.”

“As a team we have managed to stay largely unchanged which is usually a recipe for success.”

Beverley go into this week’s round of fixtures on the back of a positive result away at Hessle last
week, taking 20 points from a possible 30.

Nightingale added;

“We had a good result in the end last week against Hessle, we managed to claw back their innings after a difficult period in the middle overs.”

“Tom Norton and Richard Simpson managed to get us the 20 points from a losing draw after some good work with the bat.”

This week sees Charlie Bough come back into the side looking to impress after a week in the fourth t team.

Beverley are looking for another high scoring encounter on the back pitch following last week when 528 runs were scored.

Nightingale concluded by hinting that the match that starts at 1.30 PM could be ideal for spectators, he said;

“It is sure to be another exciting game at the Norwood Recreation Ground with lots of runs.”

With a good forecast for the weekend and an open supporters wishing to come on watch could well be a treated to a feast of local cricket and Beverley look to bag more league points.
