Firefighters from Beverley be invited by their German colleagues to attend Europe’s largest fire trade exhibition.
A crew from Beverley will travel with an appliance into Europe where they will share a stand firefighters from Beverley’s twin town Lemgo.
Shaun Harrison, the crew manager Beverley Fire Station explained;
“We travel from Beverley on Friday 5th June with H04P1 (Beverley’s 13 Plate Scania) the newest addition to the Humberside’s fleet of front line appliances, we are travelling out with a full crew of 6 with support vehicle and the appliance will be fully laden with operational equipment including latest Clan Lukas cutting equipment.”
“The Vehicle has to be in Hannover and on the trade stand for 16:00 hours Saturday 6th June, and will not be allowed out until the following Saturday 13th June, when another relief crew will be going out to collect it and bring it back via a one night stay over in Lemgo to tie in with returning ferry back to the UK Sunday evening 15th June.”
“Interschutz 2015 is the largest European FIRE Trade Fair and exhibitors from across the world will be showing of the latest “Cutting Edge” equipment and technology including PPE/Cutting Equipment/Appliances etc, similar in size the NEC in Birmingham Interschutz is widely recognised as the best possible platform for “Showing Off” the very latest equipment available on the market.”
“UK exhibitors will be among the many companies including Emergency One who make appliances for Scania and Clan Lukas who manufacture cutting equipment, both of which Humberside have adopted to recently purchase.”
“We have been invited by our twin town of Lemgo to share their stand under the auspicious of “Working Together & International Co-Operation” we have strong links with the Fire Service in Lemgo that stretches back over 30 years, not only do we host our German Partners Bi-Annually here in Lemgo but we also host the Lemgo Youth Fire Service too every second year arranging a wide range of activities for them during their week long stay in October.”
“Our Chief Fire Officer has sanctioned this visit and the transport of the vehicle abroad on the understanding that the crews finance the travel expenses personally, the fuel and travel costs of the vehicle have kindly been sponsored by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.”
“We continue to forge strong links with our “Partnershaft” (Partnership) with Lemgo and hope then in another 30 years time the union between the two towns is as strong as it is today.”
