Beverley Building Society is pleased to welcome its new Chairman Brian Young, who is no stranger to the Society, previously serving as a Non-Executive Director for the last four years.
Having lived in East Yorkshire for 30 years, Brian is proud to play a part in the direction of East Yorkshire’s only Independent Building Society. Together with an accountancy background, he also brings a wealth of experience, being Chief Executive of the British Frozen Food Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Seafish Industry Authority, and Board Member of the Thera Trust.
Commenting on his new challenge Brian says:
“I am really delighted to take on the role of Chairman being a fervent believer in the role of the Mutuals. Even my home town football club is now owned by their supporters.”
“The key for any board is to ensure that the Society stays as strong and as relevant for the next generation, as it has been for the last 150 years.”
“Regulation and society change, but we should always remain loyal to our founding principles of providing a safe place for our savers and equally somewhere where people who want to buy or improve their homes, can go to for a straightforward loan.”
“The Beverley has a very strong, loyal and dedicated team who strive to offer exceptional service to our stakeholders. With our strong balance sheet, consistently growing profits, capital and reserves, we are well placed to continue to serve our members.”
