After a tough month of results Beverley Braves got back to winning ways with a resounding win at Tower Grange in less than perfect conditions.
A Cain Robb hat trick was the highlight with centres Owen Miller and Will Cohen grabbing two and one respectively, all the tries were a result of fast, free flowing rugby with some excellent ball skills on show especially considering the wet weather .
Beverley’s forwards completely out muscled the Dockers pack despite being much smaller but as they say its more about the fight in the dog than its size and with Josh Hamlyn leading the likes of Alex Nuttall, Jack Dixon and Ellis Gaden their opponents stood no chance as they punched holes all game and got the team going forward which allowed the halves Joe McCabe and Charlie Gay to show off their ever improving ball skills and unleashing the outside backs to run amok in East park.
But the win was undoubtedly built on the back of a fine defensive effort from everyone from wingers Matthew Cook and Bryan Usher to a front row of Rhys Wallan, Shamo Blades and Adam Greenwood , good line speed coupled with much enthusiasm meant that Dockers rarely entered the Beverley 40 let alone threaten the try line.
Man of the match went to Will Cohen who just pipped Mr Nuttall and top try scorer Mr Robb.
Post-match Coach Craig Collin’s took the opportunity to share his favourite Lord Nelson quote ‘First you must gain the victory and then make the best use of it you can’
Final Score: Hull Dockers 0 Beverley Braves 31
