After a cagey opening quarter when Myton Warriors gave as good as they got, the Beverley Braves got into their groove and eventually ran away with the game romping home 38 to nothing, the second clean sheet in a fortnight.
The impressive Isaac Merryweather smashed over for the first of two tries which were both converted by Owen Miller who from the subsequent restart ran 70 metres, fending off several defenders to score under the posts, Joe McaCabe this time slotting the extras.
After the break the returning Tom Nuttall was the next on the score sheet after beating two Warriors to the corner following a neat scrum move involving Charlie Gay. A monstrous touch line two pointer from Miller made it 24-0. Next was a smart blindside play which saw Miller slide over to make it 28 nil.
Again from the kick off centre Will Cohen made a wonderful 60m break down field and from the resulting play the ball McCabe went on a mazy side ways run to score in the opposite corner. 32-0.
As well as man of the match Merryweather forwards Josh Hamlyn and the rapidly improving Adam Greenwood deserve praise for their efforts and quality of play whilst in the backs Cohen was his usually busy self, Tom Nuttall was always probing and Jack Dixon also played very well and barged over for the last try of the game.
Tougher opposition lay ahead as the braves travel to Skirlaugh next weekend .
Coach Craig Collins said; “The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The victor shall be the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the opponents.”
Final Score: Beverley Braves 38 Myton Warriors 0
