Parents and carers looking for ways to keep their children happy and entertained this summer need look no further than the School’s Out 2015 booklet.
The booklet will soon be delivered to 22,000 homes of children aged between four and 13 who attend an East Riding school and it is packed with ideas and activities to keep them active.
This year, the guide will be showcasing a number of activities which are available across the county along with a four-page calendar of events.
Activities include archery, cricket, golf coaching for beginners, rugby, football, trampolining, beach activities, swimming lesions, a crash course in snorkelling and event gliding.
There is also a teddy bear’s picnic, a mini beast safari, pond safari and seashore safari.
For parents and carers of children with a disability, there are also a number of specifically designed activities including the “all ride!” adapted bikes, archery, trampolining and sailing.
The booklet should be dropping through letterboxes in the first week of July and will also be available to pick up in customer service centres, libraries and children’s centres across the East Riding.
Councillor Julie Abraham, said:
“Parents and carers can find it a challenge to keep their children entertained during the summer holidays.
“They can be confident that their children will find something that will interest and excite them and they will be able to take part in their chosen activity in a safe and caring environment.”
