Beverley & East Riding Golf Club will host a very special event later this month when Bobby Kewley along with two friends will attempt to play four rounds of golf in a single day.
The Longest Day Golf Challenge will see three golfers tackle the Westwood Course in memory of their friend and former captain at Beverley & East Riding Golf Club, Colin Chrystall, who passed away recently.
Mr. Kewley talking about the challenge said;
“The Longest Day Golf Challenge will take place on Monday 27th July 2015. We will be playing four rounds of golf in one day, starting at first light and hoping to finish before the light fades completely.”
“It will be fun, but extremely tiring. But we will be glad in the knowledge that we are raising money for an amazing cause in Macmillan Cancer Support and honouring the memory of an amazing man.”
“Colin Chrystall was the father of my partner, Becky and I had the pleasure of knowing him for the best part of ten years. “
“I can quite honestly say that he was one of the the most kind, generous and selfless persons I’ve ever met. He was devoted to his family and friends and would do anything for them.Colin loved his life and was very active and extremely hardworking, even in retirement.”
A keen golfer and a well respected captain Mr. Kewley said it was fiting to be doing the challenge on a course he shared many rounds in Colin’s company.
On one occasion Colin acheived every golfers dream, to when he nailed a hole in one at the 4th hole on the Westwood, a shot Mr. Kewley said left his friend with a ‘substantial’ bar bill back in the clubhouse.
