East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Sports, Play and Arts Service will be celebrating a year on from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with a Commonwealth Games legacy festival.

The festival will be for young people with additional needs, and will be held at Longcroft Upper School, Beverley on Wednesday 26 August 2015, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

The event is open to young people aged between 7 and 18, and will be an opportunity to take part in a number of sport and play taster activities including athletics, football, archery, and cricket.

Adam Swann, Community Sports Coach, said:

“The festival will showcase some of the activities that are currently available to people with disabilities and bring a number of sports together as one to celebrate one year on from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.”

The festival is free of charge, but booking is essential as places are limited. To reserve your place on the event, visit www.eastriding.gov.uk/events (click on brochure tab Schools Out 2014) or contact the Sport, Play & Arts Service on 01482 395320
