Emerging Nottinghamshire trainer Scott Dixon will step Socialites Red into Listed class if she produces the goods in a hot race at Beverley Racecourse on Sunday.
The two-year-old daughter of Sakhee’s Secret is one nine declared runners for the £16,000 Happy Birthday Terence Hardwick Nursery (4.35) over the flying five furlongs on the Westwood.
Socialites Red is a leading contender for the valuable event after winning a Leicester maiden in good style just under a fortnight ago.
She also finished third behind Easton Angel and Opal Tiara in the Hilary Needler Trophy over course and distance in May.
Dixon said: “She’s just an honest little filly who is a pleasure to train.
“She’s been incredibly straightforward from the moment we got her – everything comes so easy to her.
“We were thrilled with her in the Hilary Needler, so we know she handles the track well, and the ground looks to be coming right for her, too.
“It’s a very good race – as you’d expect for the prize-money – but she goes there with an obvious chance.
“If all goes to plan, we’ll try and go for some black type in a Listed two-year-old fillies’ race towards the back-end of the season.”
Richard Fahey won the race last year with Clouds Rest and is doubly represented this time by Powerallied and Penwortham.
Tim Easterby also launches a two-pronged raid with easy Haydock scorer Midnight Malibu and Crombay, who won last time out at Thirsk.
Rosina has already struck at York and Ripon this summer and takes her chance for the Ann Duffield team, with the line-up completed by Sandra’s Secret (Les Eyre), Ayresome Angel (Bryan Smart) and Sunnyside Bob (Geoff Oldroyd).
The £10,000 Constant Security Handicap over an extended mile has also drawn a strong, eight-runner field.
Runaway Thirsk winner Erik The Red bids for back-to-back victories for Kevin Ryan, while former Andre Fabre inmate Bahama Moon makes his debut for David Barron.
Mystic Miraaj (Tim Easterby), Stardrifter (Richard Fahey) and Sands Chorus (James Given) also bring winning form to the table.
Beverley’s eight-race card is due to start at 1.50pm, with the going currently good.
