Beavers Set To Blend Youth With Experience For Guisborough Game

Beverley RUFC welcome Guisborough to Beaver Park this week who like Beverley suffered a similar fate by losing their first league match at home last week.

Guisborough are the newly promoted team to this league having gained promotion from Durham and Northumberland One league.

Their first game last week was against a strong Percy Park team and will no doubt be looking to get back on track this week against Beverley.

Director of Rugby, Junior Tupai commented;

“Guisborough will be similar in many ways to West Hartlepool. They’ll come with a big pack and look to bully us around the park.”

“We need to continue to progress our set pieces and hopefully give the backs enough ball to dominate them.”

Beverley look to continue to bring the youth into their 1st team and look to find the balance of youth and enthusiasm with a mixture of experience and mental toughness.

Tupai continued;

“We’re giving some young guys some exposure, we did it last year in a higher league and hopefully those boys can use that experience last year at this level and thrive. It’s only going to benefit the club in the long term.”

Beverley could welcome back some old heads back this week with Rob Vaux and Martin Shaw returning along with young guns Alfie Hart- Fisher and Andy Rowbotham.

Beverley will select from: Kris Renwick, Martin Shaw, Andrew Meagher, Shaun Jenney, Alfie Hart- Fisher, Phil Cromie, Dave Brant, Rob Vaux, Jack Bunn, Lewis Starbuck, Andy Rowbotham, Phil Duboulay, Sam Roe, Phil Wood, Harrison Mayou, Alex Smith, Luke Hazell, Mike Kilgannon, Jamie Gill, Ian Archibald.
