Beverley Welcome Alnwick To Beaver Park This weekend

Beverley RUFC return to action at Beaver Park against Alnwick after a better showing against Morley. Although going down 57 points to 14, they showed much more promise in the forwards than they did at home the previous week. Director of Rugby, Junior Tupai commented:

“The score doesn’t reflect it but we played really well for 20mins in the second half & really gave Morley a bit of a hurry up. We’re still conceding some soft tries out wide but that’s down to confidence & setting up some defensive policies that those backs need to believe in.”

Two tries to Sam Roe who has switched over from Beverley Rugby League shows that there is some attacking flair within the Beverley backline. Tupai continued:

“Sam’s learning the game still but he’s developing into good rugby player. A lot of the skill sets he uses in Rugby League, he can replicate in Rugby Union.”

“He’s still unsure of what to do at times but he’s a willing learner. I thought our forwards performed really well with our lineouts operating exceptionally well.”

“Hopefully we can continue that effort going into Alnwick this weekend.”

Beverley will be selected from: Kris Renwick, Martin Shaw, Andrew Meagher, Shaun Jenney, Chris Pape, Alfie Hart- Fisher, Craig Hancock, Dave Brant, Phil Cromie, Alex McPeake, Dale Hodgson, Lewis Starbuck, Rayno De Kock, Andy Rowbotham, Phil Duboulay, Jay Marin, James Graham, Alex Smith, Jamie Gill, Phil Wood, Tom Shires, Mike Kilgannon, Luke Hazel
