As the cricket season finishes with more success for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, local cricket fans can enjoy an afternoon with historian, journalist and former MCC player Richard Tomlinson in Beverley on Friday 9 October.
As part of the Beverley Literature Festival, Richard will be talking about his new book, ‘Amazing Grace: the Man who was W.G’ at the East Riding Theatre at 1pm on Friday 9th.
This definitive biography marks 100 years since the death of legendary cricketer W.G. Grace. Richard Tomlinson mines a rich seam of previously unpublished archive material and connects Grace’s astounding achievements on the cricket field with the private life he hid from the world, as the victim of immense snobbery.
Tickets for this fascinating event cost £6 each and are available from www.bevlit.org
