Sam Harman Signs Off With Four Tries For Colts

Beverley RUFC Colts entertained Otley in a repeat of last year’s very competitive fixtures.

Beverley where on top straight away with great ball retention and slick moves, which led to Luke Hazell going over after 3 minutes.

Soon after Sam Harman managed to get over the line and it wasn’t long until he had 3 tries in the space of 10 minutes.

The pick of Harman’s tries was a planned move which he was involved in and saw him go from 40 meters to score.

After that the large crowd saw Joey Franklin score his first of the season with a well worked backs move.

Alfie Hart Fisher and Ryan Bissett all managed to get over the whitewash before half time.

The Colts where not finished there, they bagged plenty more tries from Franklin adding 2 to complete his hat trick with a long range effort.

Harman who finished with 4 tries, Connor Egan adding two more for his tally for the season and two long range efforts from Jacob Marin added to the scoring.

In all the Colts finished the game scoring 14 tries, they seem to be scoring points but a great effort in defensive is also great to see as they stopped the visitors getting a single point.

Luckily the penalty count didn’t affect Beverley this week with giving away 15 penalties in total, this will prove a key factor in tighter games and could affect the score line.

Speaking after the match Franklin said;

“We would all like to wish the best of luck to Sam Harman who played his last game this weekend ahead of joining the Royal Marines. He signed off with a great last game finishing with 4 tries.”

“Big credit to the tight 5 the likes of debutant Kingsley Overton and Man Of The Match Daniel Norman who shone throughout with his mass of tackles and also great carries.”

Final Score: Beverley RUFC Colts 82 Otley 0
