Local salon owner Dominic Ackah-Amihere says he was left feeling very annoyed and unhappy after learning his business, UrbanQTR was one of number that were targeted by vandals in Beverley.

Dominic’s business which is on Butcher Row had its window smashed along many other premiesses in the town centre.

Speaking to HU17.net Dominic said;

“The first I knew about it was when a cleint called me in the morning while they were on their way to work.”

“When they told me what had happened I was majorly upset about it, I thought Beverley was an upper class place.”

“I think they used a javelin to shatter my window but they didn’t get in. I have no idea where they got the javelin from.”

When asked if what had happened would make him put bars on his windows he said;

“We used to have shutters on the shop but the council told us we had to take them off as they do not fit in with the image of Beverley. After what happened today I would like to put them back up.”

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said;

“Officers were quickly deployed to the area and two men were arrested.”

“The men (aged 26 and 24) were arrested on suspicion of eight counts of criminal damage and one count of burglary till a date in November pending further enquiries.”
