Beverley rider Dominic Usher was competing at Silverstone in the penultimate round of the National Superstock 1000 championship, but although he had the makings of a top five finish, he was unlucky to crash on lap four, his race over.
Free practise and qualifying went really well for Dom who began his 11 lap race from the fourth row in 10th position.
He got away to a fantastic start and was up to sixth place on the first lap, but as he was poised to make a move up into the top five, he crashed the DUR BMW at the Loop on lap four and although uninjured, his race was over.
Dominic commented:
“I am really disappointed with crashing out of sixth in today’s race! I had the pace to run with the top five and had caught them up, but it wasn’t to be.”
“I have to take the positives though as I recorded the fifth fastest lap of the race and the second quickest ideal time! It seems we have found another level this weekend.”
“Massive thanks to all the crew and supporters who came along this weekend, and l apologise for not bringing her home.”
“I need to keep the momentum going for Brands Hatch now, and l am very much looking forward to it.”
The final race in the 2015 championship takes place at Brands Hatch over the weekend of October 16-18.
