Rotary Club of Beverley To Hold Ancient Egypt Talk

Tickton Grange Hotel

The Rotary Club of Beverley is delighted to welcome back the eminent media presenters and Egyptologists, Professor Joann Fletcher and her partner Dr Stephen Buckley, for a third exciting lecture, Ancient Egypt: New Discoveries.

John Greenwodd from the Beverley Rotary Club said;

“Jo and Stephen have worked together in the Valley of the Kings since 1992, receiving a BAFTA award in 2012 for their joint project, Mummifying Alan: Egypt’s Last Secret.”

“Jo has recently completed her third BBC2 TV four-part series on the history of ancient Egypt which is sure to be as highly acclaimed as ever.”

“She is also a prolific writer and will be signing copies of her newly released book, The Story of Egypt, which we will have on sale at a specially reduced price.”

“This is a wonderful opportunity of actually meeting, seeing and hearing Joann Fletcher and Stephen Buckley and is sure to be another fascinating and entertaining evening, full of warm Yorkshire wit and humour.”

“Once again, a themed three course dinner is included, specially created by Tickton Grange Hotel head chef David Nowell, this time reflecting Jo’s Barnsley roots.”

The night will take place at the Tickton Grange Hotel on 6 November. The cost is £30 per head.

A booking form can be downloaded from the club’s website www.beverleyrotaryclub.org.uk or by phoning 01482 869631.
