Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research have been voted Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month for September by its members.
The Society’s donation of £250 will help to support the local group in their efforts to raise money to fund research projects necessary to improve the quality of patient’s lifestyle, and prevent people from getting blood cancer in the first place.
There are 137 different types of blood cancer, all with different names, symptoms and challenges.
Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research aim to raise awareness working with patients, health professionals and experts in the field to help beat blood cancer.
The charity continually works to research ground breaking new treatments through their Trials and Acceleration programme, and making them available to more patients, more quickly, and more cost effectively.
Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research works with improving the quality of life of patients until blood cancer no longer has an impact, ensuring patients live their lives to the full, free from fear of relapse, free from side effects and free to do the things they love.
