Beverley Town Football Club lost at the Norwood Recreation Ground for the second successive game in a match of few chances.
Chalk Lane got the only goal of the game inside the first five minutes following a free kick turned into his own net by Town’s Asa Pardoe who was making his first appearance of the season.
In the second half, Town enjoyed some possession but failed to turn it into goals.
Defeat leaves sees Town slump to tenth in the table, some 13 points behind the leaders Wawne United.
This Saturday town travel to Goole United for their Humber Premier League encounter.
