East Riding College is teaming up with Parkway Cinemas to recruit staff for the multi-screen complex within the Flemingate shopping centre.
The College is hosting a recruitment day later this month for the independent operator as it looks to recruit 30 full and part-time general assistants.
Cliff Baillie, general manager of the Beverley complex, said:
“We are exceptionally happy to be working now and in the future with the College as working with the local community is very important to us.
“It’s a great thing for an independent cinema to be working with a college and, of course, we expect to have a lot of students working for us in part-time roles.”
The College and cinema are already in talks about working together on a range of projects. This includes the potential for performing arts and music students to perform on stage in the largest of the cinema’s six auditoria.
The general assistant positions the cinema is recruiting to are involved in a range of tasks, including greeting guests, selling tickets, serving popcorn and clearing up after films.
The deadline for applications to work at the cinema is Monday November 16 and applicants will undertake an interview by telephone before being shortlisted for the recruitment day.
John Doris, Vice Principal of the College, said: “We are delighted to be working with Parkway Cinemas and expect to be doing so for many years to come.
“Working in partnership with the business community is very important to the College and we are keen to strengthen our links with employers across the region.”
