For the 7th year in succession, and with the invaluable support of the ‘Cerutti 2’ team and a group of local volunteers, local award-winning restaurateur, Tina Cerutti is delivering the ever-popular ‘Great Sunday Takeaway’ lunch event on Sunday 22rd November to raise money for Age UK East Riding.
Tina hopes that this year the team will manage to produce and sell 700 takeaway meals, exceeding last year’s record total of 650.
The Great Sunday Takeaway will provide a ‘Roast Chicken Lunch” that costs £4.50 and all the money raised will go to Age UK East Riding to help deliver its much in demand charitable services that support local older people.
The lunch is suitable for people of all ages, not just older people although as always it is hoped that many people will also act as good neighbours and pick up a meal for an elderly relative, friend or person living nearby. Tina suggests that the event is “Open to one and all”, so everyone is encouraged to buy a meal and sample the delights of the excellent cooking.
Tina says:
“A lot of older people enjoy a hot meal but are unable to cook or collect it themselves. I hope that their relatives, friends or neighbours will think of them on 22nd November and come and collect a lunch for them, as well as for themselves.”
“We can also arrange to deliver meals for those unable to come and collect them from the restaurant.”
“From previous years I know that many people get together on these occasions and hold a takeaway lunch party and people often tell me what fun these can be and how they are really appreciated.”
The takeaway lunches, for which the chickens, vegetables and trimmings have all been kindly donated by local businesses, will be served hot in foil containers for collection from Cerutti 2 in Station Square, Beverley between 11.45am and 1.30pm on Sunday 22nd November.
If they need warming up at home, clear instructions for this will be included.
