On Sunday 6th December, we will be meeting at around 10:15 am at the Tourist Information Office near The Humber Bridge.
Husky Meet East Yorkshire would like to invite the owners of Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute or other Sled, Snow dogs to join them and learn about the group which organises walks around the region primarily for owners of such dogs.
Husky Meet East Yorkshire intend to walk across the bridge setting off at 10:30 am and back before walking through Little Switzerland and on to the Country park Inn for refreshments.
The Yorkshire Husky Group was formed in the Sheffield area by husband and wife team Dave and Sarah Harrison early in 2013 and now has some 1700 members across Yorkshire. It has regional groups in South, West, North and of course East Yorkshire that are organising this meeting.
The regional groups all lead walks weekly in their area, and each month take turns to host all four groups on what we call a main meet in their respective region.
This year saw 153 dogs at a main meet in Filey, which was an amazing sight to see them all playing on the beach.
Attendance at the groups is normally owners of Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute or other Sled or Snow Dogs. However, all other breeds are also welcome but must be kept on a lead during the meet.
David Elvidge from the Yorkshire Husky Meets – East Yorkshire group said;
“We enjoy the walks and meeting like-minded people. It ensures our fur covered family members get to socialise and play with other Huskies and above all get the exercise, they need to keep healthy.”
