Armstrongs Social Club are inviting local people who have to work over the festive to a special party in January 2016.
In our region around 3pc of the workforce will be not be putting their feet up on Christmas day as they will be working throughout the festive period.
It is this group of people that Armstrongs Social Club are looking to cater for by holding special event so that the people that work in the town can enjoy a festive night out.
Sally-Ann Renna from Armstrongs Social Club explained why they are holding the party, she said;
“It is a really busy time for shops, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and that is why we have decided to put on a free Christmas Party in January for all the local workers.”
“Although this is a free event, but you must obtain an entry ticket beforehand, due to limited numbers being available.”
Taking place on Saturday 9 January from 8PM until 1AM and will be 80s vs. 90s themed disco with our resident DJ Adrian so people can dance their socks off.
Throughout the evening, there will be special deals on drinks, including and shots from £1 each.
Sally-Ann added;
“This is a great chance for people who work over the Christmas period to have a great night out at their local community venue.”
Of the people working this Christmas, the largest percentages are those working for the church, while farmers, care workers and police all in the top 10 sectors that work over the Christmas period.
It will come as little surprise that bar staff, waiting staff, chefs and cleaners also face a busy Christmas as they work during party season.
