Beverley Town Football Club have slipped to eleventh place in the Humber Premier League after they were beaten by Hedon Rangers.
It was the sixth time Town have been beaten this season and as a result of the 3-1 victory Rangers have now moved above Town in the league.
Daniel Clancy scored twice for Rangers with Jake Coleman also finding the back of the net with Nathan White scoring Towns only goal of the game.
Beverley started the match playing with the wind behind them and nearly seized an early initiative in the game coming close with long-range efforts from Kegan Rose and Harry Stanforth.
It was Hedon who broke the deadlock to open the scoring before some good passing between the Day brothers released Beverley’s White who scored his fifth goal of the season to level the scores.
All square at half Beverley my fancy their chances of getting something out of the game but within 10 minutes of the restart Town found themselves behind for the second time in the match.
Town looked to the bench and made a string of changes, which included 16-year-old Sam Thames his debut for the club in the Humber Premier League.
The introduction of the new players did little to change the flow of the game and in the 85th minute, Hedon added a third goal to seal the points and climb above Beverley in the league.
Town return to action this weekend when they welcome AFC Rovers to the Norwood Recreation Ground in the 2 PM Humber Premier League fixture.
Rovers are three points ahead of Beverley in the table and come into the game off the back of a good result against strugglers Hornsea Town.
With so little between the two sides subtly will prove to be an interesting encounter between two teams who are both more than capable of winning the game.
