Christmas Bin Collections In The East Riding

Brown Bins

Collection dates for green, blue and brown bins across the East Riding will change over the Christmas period between December 25 and January 17.

Residents will soon be receiving new bin collection calendars through the post from East Riding of Yorkshire Council which will show the revised dates for putting out their bins this Christmas and New Year – and all the collection dates for 2016.

People can also find their own festive collection dates online at the website bins.eastriding.gov.uk. Just enter your postcode to find your address and your green, blue and brown bin collection dates.

Residents can sign up to the council’s free text reminder service to receive a text to their phone the night before their bin collection. Information on how to sign up is on the calendar or on the council’s website www.eastriding.gov.uk and search ‘bin collection dates’.

Bin collections will return to normal days from January 18.

The council’s household waste recycling sites and the Reuse Shop at the Humberfield site, near North Ferriby, will be open from 10am to 5pm during the Christmas period, but will close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

They will be closed all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

People can now pick up free liners for their kitchen caddies from all household waste recycling sites, as well as from customer service centres, leisure centres, libraries and mobile libraries.
