Beverley Westwood Probus Club guest speaker for their monthly lunch, held at the Beverley Arms Hotel was Peter Wood, an estate planning practitioner from Collective Legal Solutions.
Peter described his work advising clients how to arrange their affairs to ensure their estate is dealt with in accordance with their wishes after their death.
He highlighted the three major risk areas for estates as Inheritance Tax, Care Home Charges and Re-marriage and then outlined practicable ways to mitigate the effects of these.
Peter also dealt with Wills, Trust Funds, Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney. He described the potential pit falls associated with each of these and steps necessary to avoid them.
The talk was of great interest to members as was evidenced by the lively question and answer session that followed. Member Frank Lovely proposed the vote of thanks.
