Boosting Health And Wellbeing For Local Businesses

Work is underway to look at how East Riding of Yorkshire Council can help local businesses to improve the health and wellbeing of their workforces.

A report, entitled ‘Health and Wellbeing and Business’, which highlights the “need for action in the workplace to support health”, will be presented to the East Riding’s Health and Wellbeing Board on 3 March.

The report outlines what is already being done by the council, in partnership with local employers and employees through leisure services, economic regeneration and public health, to support health and wellbeing in the workplace, and how the council plans to develop this.

It details a consultation with various groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, and the formation of a new group within the council to progress a future ‘health and wellbeing’ offer to local businesses later this year.

The Safeguarding Adult Board annual report 2014/15 will also be presented to the board when it meets at County Hall this Thursday.

An NHS report, entitled ‘Future in Mind: transforming support for Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing’, and a report from the director of commissioning and transformation of NHS East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on the ‘mental health challenge’ will also be presented for consideration by the board.

The agenda also features the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2016-19, a Better Care Programme and Integration Update, and an update on the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2015-18.

The meeting takes place at County Hall, in Beverley from 2pm on Thursday 3 March.
