Beverley Racer Jordan Rushby is in second place of the Elite 600 Thundersport GB after he earned 49 points from the first round of races held at Brands Hatch.
Over the two days Rushby claimed a second place, third place and fourth place as he got his new season off to a solid start.
Commenting on the weekend at Brands Hatch Rushby said;
“I felt good going into the weekend, and I felt that I was mentally and physically ready.”
“The race on Saturday was wet and cold, and I got off to a good start. The leader crashed out on the first lap, so I found myself leading the race.”
“After a hard fight all race, I finished off in a close second and was content, only missing out on the top step by 0.1 of a second.”
“Sam Thompson had a great ride and he came through into first leaving me to battle it out to claim third place finish.”
“For our last race of the weekend we had a bit of a nightmare start. An error in the garage saw the wrong wheel being put on the bike, something we only realised minutes before the start.”
“As the tyre was cold we had a sketchy first couple of laps, as you can imagine, but once I’d got heat into the tyres, I fought my way back up from 12th to 4th.”
“I am sure that had the mix up with the wheel not happened I could have ended up on the podium.”
“These things happen, and it was my dad’s only mistake in the garage ever during my six years of racing together, his work other than that was faultless, as always.”
“All in all, a mint first race weekend of the year and I’m excited for what’s to come at Dunnington Park end of the month.”
Rushby has a few weeks break now before he returns to action on the weekend of 11 April as the Elite 600 Thundersport GB continues at Donington Park.
