Beverley Consolidated Charity has been voted Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month for February by its members.
The Society’s donation of £250 will help to support the charity’s efforts in providing accommodation for elderly residents of Beverley, Molescroft, Woodmansey and Tickton.
The charity supports those who are aged over 60 years and have lived in Beverley for 10 years or more during their lifetime and are “in need” whether it be financial, social or medical. The Charity owns 125 almshouses around the town centre, some over 150 years old plus many new build all of which are maintained to a very high standard.
Beverley Consolidated Charity Chairman Mrs Dunn, said;
“Thank you to the members of Beverley Building Society who have voted for us to be February’s Charity of the Month. The donation received will help support our mission in helping the elderly across Beverley find accommodation.”
“All our almshouses consist of one and two bedroom bungalows, apartments and houses across various locations around Beverley Town Centre. All of our properties are equipped with the elderly in mind, and all of the almhouses have the benefit of the Lifeline Emergency Call System.”
Beverley Building Society Marketing Manager Ed Davies said:
“Our members have again shown great support for our monthly charity of the month entries. Community involvement has been one of the Society’s key focuses in recent years. We strive to be more than a just a customer-facing financial service provider, but also a provider that can make a real difference within the East Yorkshire communities.”
“Our Charity of the Month allows the Society to engage with members and non-members. For us as a Building Society that prides itself on delivering an unrivalled personal service we aim to look beyond the product range we offer and build understanding of the causes and interests that our members support locally. This understanding allows the Society to develop closer relationships with our members, and for the Society team to know the people we serve.”
